FAQs

I'm interested in Groflo

1. We are a small company, I'm not sure we are ready for a solution like yours. When should we engage you?

Our solution is actually designed for emerging brands. Our entry-level product is free to use, we just charge 50 cents/redemption. We developed the solution as a competitor to the larger digital couponing solutions that charge hundreds to thousands of dollars per month. There is no better time to start gathering your customer data then when you are in the early stages of growth. The insights you learn can be used to help formulate your sales and marketing strategy.

2. We are only on shelves in small speciality stores. Does your solution work with these shops?

Absolutely. Our solution is retailer-independent. You will get the same type of value from using us to drive in-store traffic and get customer data in small stores as you would from large retailers. Now is the time to start learning about and engaging with your customers. When you pitch to a larger retailer, you can now bring customer data and a customer list with you. Very few emerging brands have this.

3. We are self-funded and struggling to even pay basic expenses. How can we afford a solution like yours?

We are a startup also, we understand. That is why we created our entry-level product that is free to us. You only pay us 50 cents per redemption. So you are not paying us, unless you get sales. We want to grow with you. As your sales increase you can move up into our paid tiers that provide more reporting, more features and more tools to drive sales.

4. Who reaches out to our retailers regarding the coupon? Us or you?

Since our coupon is retailer independent, you don't need to involve your retailer at all. Coupon redemption is not done at the point of sale, but by the customer uploading their receipt to the link we send them when they sign up for the promotion.

5. What exactly are you providing us?

We are providing a digital coupon, the system for customers to redeem it, the reimbursement to the customer as well as helping you develop and execute a strategy to get your coupon in front of purchasers.

6. We have used traditional paper, or in-store coupons. How is your solution better than that?

Paper, and in-store coupons don't provide you with data on who used them. Since they are scanned by the retailer at checkout, The retailer keeps all the data. With our digital coupon, since the redemption is done by uploading the purchase receipt to our website (completely independent of the retailer) we now know:

  • Who bought the your product
  • Where they bought it
  • How much they paid for it

We provide all this data to you in a dashboard.

Paper coupons can't be promoted through social media. We can reach thousands of people with a digital coupon in seconds.

7. We don't have a large social media following. Can you help us get our coupon seen?

Absolutely. We have 100s of social media influencer partners that we can work with to amplify your campaign. You just tell us your target audience and your budget and we will get you a short-list of recommended influencers. We will charge you monthly to run the campaign. The price depends on how large the campaign is, but generally would be in the range of $49-$199/month (not including the budget to compensate the influencers).

8. We have a good social media lead. Do we need to use your art?

Absolutely not. If you want to design your own coupon and art or social media, please go ahead. We just offer this option to brands because our turn-around time for art is generally less than 48 hours.

9. I just got an influencer that wants to do a post for us! What now?

Go to your dashboard and create a coupon for the influencer. Send them the link so they can go get the product at a retailer. (Alternatively you can ship directly to them)

Create another coupon for the influencer to share with their followers and get them the link. You can do BOGO, free, or any offer you can think of.

10. What are “Affiliate Links?”

Affiliate links are special web links that allow your influencer partners to distribute these links to their friends, who then, in turn, get a % of the sales they drive using the links. Sort of like multi-level marketing, but less creepy. We can handle the pay-out so you don't have to worry about anything.

11. How do people redeem their coupons?

Usually the call to action on your campaign drives people to your custom landing page we host. There they can see all the details of the campaign, including the instructions on how to redeem after a purchase. They enter their email address and/or phone number and we send them a custom link for the redemption. The customer then uploads their receipt using the link.

12. Who does the payout of the coupon?

When a customer uploads their receipt, our system validates the purchase and then automatically sends them the value of the coupon via PayPal or Venmo. This redemption gets reported in your dashboard.

13. How do you charge us?

You will fund your Groflo account via your dashboard with your budget for coupons, affiliates, redemptions and we will debit your account accordingly. You can track all payments through your dashboard.

14. How long is the agreement?

We don't lock you into a contract. As long as you are seeing value from our solution, you can keep using it. In general when we run campaigns for you though, we recommend a 3 month engagement so that we have time to measure the success of the campaign.

15. How do we get started?

You can sign up and get started directly on our web site at www.groflo.io. If you would like to learn more or customize a customer outreach campaign we would be happy to get you a custom proposal. Email us at jada@groflo.io.

16. What's the difference between a coupon and a campaign?

A coupon can be used in a campaign, or multiple campaigns. The campaign is where you set your valid dates for the offer and get your link to the coupon landing page to share. When you create a coupon, it automatically creates a campaign. Go to the campaign to edit the dates and get your coupon link.

You can create a new campaign and then link an existing coupon, if you like.

17. How long does it take for my coupon link to be active?

For now, we need to link your coupon to our back end. This usually takes 48 hours. We will send you a message when the link is active. As we continue to develop our product, this will become automatic.

18. When or why would I use different coupons?

For example, if you ran a specific offer for a discount in Whole Foods one month, you would have a landing page for that offer. Then the next month, you want to run an offer for a discount in Sprouts. You would create separate coupons for each offer since the wording would be different.
